NavHyS Project

NavHyS – a project co‑funded by the European Union and supported by the Clean Hydrogen Partnership – is dedicated to the deployment of liquid hydrogen in maritime applications. The project brings together 14 leading companies from across Europe, combining expertise from the space industry, shipbuilding, transportation, and energy and safety. NavHyS aims to advance sustainable shipping technologies and support the EU Green Deal’s decarbonisation targets in the maritime sector.

Hydrogen power for
the next
generation of SOVs

NavHyS is developing an innovative below-deck liquid hydrogen storage and fuel system. Our solution is designed for Service Operating Vessels (SOVs) and is compatible with any propulsion system, enabling seamless integration into both new builds and retrofits. The system delivers gaseous hydrogen at 5 bar/ambient temperature, supporting power outputs from 500 KW to 2 MW. Its compact and efficient design ensures optimal space usage, operational safety, and reliable performance for the maritime energy transition.
